Paul Ibbotson's music has been played on BBC1, BBC Radio 3 and Scala Radio. He writes in a romantic classical tradition. He has numerous small works for guitar, piano and violin and larger compositions include his Cello Concerto in Am, Violin Concerto in Gm and Piano Sonata No. 1. He is currently working on his first Piano Concerto and finishing his first Symphony.

 

 

His Chanson d’été was premiered by prestigious Polish cellist Evva Mizerska and Italian pianist Emma Abbate, the violin arrangement of which has become very popular on YouTube by Esther Abrami [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PhPmTnhBaGY] who subsequently went on to popularise another work for Violin and Piano Consolation [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7rNc73X2i6w]. The world premiere of Romanza-Barcarolle and Circular Motion was given by internationally acclaimed American guitarist, Valérie Hartzell. In November 2017, Paul Ibbotson’s Cello Concerto in Am was premiered by outstanding RCM Cellist Lydia Dobson with the Hitchin Symphony Orchestra at St Mary’s Church in England. In 2020 he was commissioned by world renowned Guitar Duo KM to write a Guitar Suite for Two Guitars and String Quintet to be premiered in 2021.
